Community Green Deal report

Home : Projects : Community Green Deal 2010 : Community Green Deal report

The Community Green Deal was report was prepared for the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and the Sustainable Housing Action Partnership (SHAP) by URBED with support from Bates Wood and Grant Thornton.

The model presented by the report was developed with the input of over 75 stakeholders during a series of workshops and steering groups between June and November 2010.  Representation included the HCA, Local Authorities, Social Landlords, Lead Contractors, Builders Merchants and Architects. A full listing is provided in the appendix of the report.

The detailed evidence base for the report is based on four example areas – Birchills in Walsall, Northfield in Birmingham, Middleport and Longport in Stoke-on-Trent and the Prees-Whitchurch area of North Shropshire – and ten supply chain opportunity areas.

A detailed financial model was developed for one of the example areas.  The model was drafted by URBED and checked by Grant Thornton who also provided advice on sources of finance.  Additional  input during this process was provided by Marksman Consulting and Encraft.
