Community Green Deal: Developing a model to benefit whole communities
Home : Projects : Community Green Deal 2010
The Community Green Deal report was launched at a major conference at the Public in West Bromwich on the 1st December 2010. The report presents the findings of work to develop a model for community-scale delivery of whole house retrofit – the ‘Community Green Deal’.
What is the Community Green Deal?
It would be delivered by trusted local delivery bodies working in partnership with local communities. Local delivery bodies would bring together Local Authorities, Registered Providers and ALMOs in order to pool resources, achieve economies of scale and access finance.
The Community Green Deal model would be led by major investment in social housing stock but would in the process benefit owner occupiers and private landlords, with retrofit works being carried out by local delivery bodies.
